Overview

What is Tanium

Tanium provides businesses with a comprehensive, real-time platform for endpoint management and cybersecurity. Their goal is to give organizations the ability to manage, secure, and monitor all devices (endpoints) connected to their networks—such as computers, servers, and IoT devices—at scale.


The Goal

My primary objective was to create a flexible and engaging brand system for the Tanium Titans program that would:

• Foster a sense of empowerment and unity among users.
•Drive measurable increases in community engagement and participation.
•Provide a scalable set of assets (digital and physical) for consistent use across platforms.

Impact

Stakeholders and users within the community loved the new brand direction. User engagement was doubled, and users continue to use the platform to connect with fellow developers and desire tangible rewards as well.

Process

The Problem

Tanium's existing user community forum lacked a strong brand identity and personality. This weak presence resulted in low user engagement, preventing the community from becoming the vibrant, collaborative hub stakeholders envisioned. I was tasked with solving this by leading the development of a compelling brand identity for a new community program, "Tanium Titans," to be launched at their flagship annual event, Converge.

The Goal

My primary objective was to create a flexible and engaging brand system for the Tanium Titans program that would:

  • Foster a sense of empowerment and unity among users.
  • Drive measurable increases in community engagement and participation.
  • Provide a scalable set of assets (digital and physical) for consistent use across platforms.

My Role

As the lead designer, I was responsible for the end-to-end visual identity of Tanium Titans. This included:

  • Designing the program logo to symbolize strength and community.
  • Developing comprehensive branding guidelines, iconography, and a suite of digital badges.
  • Creating UI elements, print collateral, and digital advertisements to support the launch and ongoing engagement.
    This project was a key component of my broader efforts to strengthen and maintain consistency across Tanium's entire brand ecosystem.
Designed a tiered badge system for the community forum to visually reward user engagement. The templatable design was inspired by game UI, making progress feel tangible and scalable for future use.
Designed within a flexible system for team scalability, these badges balance bespoke iconography and color with a reusable template structure.
Tasked with creating wireframes for a site built in Salesforce, I provided strategic direction on how to achieve the project goals within the platform's native capabilities.
